German leisure airline Sundair is expanding its Mediterranean network with new charter flights to three of Greece’s most beloved destinations — Heraklion (Crete), Kos, and Rhodes — starting this October 2025.

The airline, headquartered in Stralsund, Germany, announced that these new routes will operate directly from Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ), offering travelers more convenient access to the Greek islands during the autumn travel season.

Flight Schedule and Frequency

According to the announcement, Sundair will operate:
4 weekly flights to Heraklion (HER) until October 30.
2 weekly flights to Kos (KGS) from September 27 to October 25.
3 weekly flights to Rhodes (RHO) during the same period.

All flights will be operated with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, known for their comfort and reliability on medium-haul routes.

Sundair’s Growing Mediterranean Presence

SUNDAIR

Founded in 2016, Sundair has steadily built a strong presence in the Mediterranean, Red Sea, and Canary Islands markets, specializing in leisure and charter flights for holiday travelers.

In addition to its popular sun-drenched routes, the airline also operates special charter services and scheduled flights to select destinations, including Beirut, Lebanon.

This latest expansion underscores the airline’s commitment to providing affordable, direct connections between Germany and key vacation hotspots in southern Europe.

More Options for Autumn Travelers

The new Leipzig-based flights come as welcome news for both German holidaymakers and Greek tourism operators, extending the travel season into late October — traditionally a quieter period after the summer rush.

Crete, Kos, and Rhodes remain among the top destinations for German tourists, offering warm weather, rich history, and authentic island experiences well into autumn.
