Targeted police action to enforce animal welfare legislation on Crete.
Recently, a series of targeted policing actions were carried out across all four regional units of the island, resulting in 87 inspections.

Throughout these efforts, 31 violations were identified, highlighting several issues surrounding the welfare of domestic and companion animals.
The violations recorded included:
- Lack of valid health certificates for pets.
