According to GTP Headlines, the series is designed to bring athletics closer to local citizens, turning the city streets into a safe, car-free zone for a few hours of collective energy.

Safety First

Participants are encouraged to review the official medical advice provided by the organizers to ensure a safe experience. If you haven’t checked the race routes yet, you can find detailed maps and registration info on Run-Events.gr.

Tips for Participants and Spectators

* Arrive Early: With thousands of runners expected, Eleftherias Square will be busy. Aim to be at the start line at least 30–45 minutes before your scheduled time.
* Check the Weather: Spring in Crete can be unpredictable. Stay hydrated and dress in breathable layers.
* Support the Runners: If you aren’t running, come down to Dikaiosynis Avenue or Demokratias Avenue to cheer! The atmosphere in Heraklion during Run Greece is legendary for its high energy and Cretan hospitality.
* Road Closures: Be aware that major roads around the city center will be closed to traffic throughout the morning. Plan your commute accordingly.
